Can I skip obstacles?

Yeah, the 5K is an Open race, meaning you can skip any obstacles without penalties. If you fail an obstacle, you’re free to retry as many times you’d like. This is your race, just show up and give the course hell. The rest is between you and God.

Do I need to be in shape?

We have people walk, run, and crawl their way through the course. There are obstacles for all skill levels, and you can skip anything you're not comfortable with. One thing is for sure though, you will be challenged and you will have fun.

Is it actually dangerous?

No, it looks way scarier than it is. While WarX is a war-themed race with explosions, flamethrowers, and gunfire (blanks only), everything is simulated, controlled by a professional team, and is 100% safe. This theme even exists to create an atmosphere like nothing you’ve experienced before, and to very lightly simulate war conditions. That said, safety is our top priority and at no point will you actually be in danger.

On the course, we have frequent aid stations with water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and staff/volunteers making sure you’re hydrated and good to keep going. We also have a full professional medic team to help if anything happens.

Yes in the sense that there is running, obstacles and mud to contend with. War-X is very unique in that every race has a specific mission that dictates your interaction with the course and the fact that you are running the race through explosions and gunfire. But if you can run a Spartan Race or a Tough Mudder, you can finish this race.

What if I need a place to stay?

Bring your tents! We offer on-site primitive camping Friday and Saturday night  (pre-paid only). We also have discounts set up with local hotels. More information on the event page after clicking "Register Now."

Are there more races over the weekend?

Thirsty for more? Make it a weekend with the Trilogy 5K Weekend Package. Take on a military-style assault mission Saturday evening, and a 3K obstacle course race Sunday morning. We also have affordable camping options & partner hotels with discounts if you need a place to stay.

See the specific event breakdown(s) and details on the next page after clicking "Register Now".

Of course, feel free to come cheer on the participants! Admission is free, and the venue opens at 8:00 AM. There will be many stands, food trucks, a merchandise store, and more around the start and finish area. Please note that you will need to pay parking fees and most of the race takes place in the woods, so you'll mostly be spectating the start and finish line. (which is the coolest place to be anyway)

100% of War-X 2026 proceeds go to Operation Enduring Warrior, a nonprofit helping wounded veterans overcome mental and physical challenges through athletic events like War-X. You’ll see them alongside you on race day.

So when you cross that finish line, know you ran for something bigger than yourself. You ran for these masked heroes who gave everything and more for this country.
